Wychnor Park Country Club. 1, 2 & 3 bed accommodation, 9 hole golf, beautiful location, great local attractions.
I have visited Wynchnor Park on five separate locations. It’s my eldest child’s favourite Diamond Resorts location in the UK. He loves it so much because right on the door step is the National Forest Maize Maze. The National Forest Maize Maze features lots of family based activities from a childrens indoor play area, tractor rides, pig races, animal feeding, outdoor bouncy castles, archeology digging and of course the maize maze. The first thing to not about the maize maze is that it’s season so check their website to avoid disappointment. The maize maze is not the only activities that are nearby of course. There is Cadbury World, Drayton Manor, Alton Towers, the famous Ryder Cup hosting Belfry Hotel & Spa, Warwick Castle and of course, Stratford Upon Avon, the home of Shakespeare himself. These are just a few of the nearby activities. Wychnor Park Country Club is the perfect location to base yourself from, slap bang in the centre of England.
Wynchnor Park Country Club has Wychnor Hall at the centre of the resort. Wychnor Hall is a Grade II listed 18th Century country house and was the former home of the Levett Family. The building is truly impressive and looks spectacular when lit up in an evening. We had the privilege of staying in the hall on one of our visits and you feel like a king with his very own castle. Other types of accommodation are the lodges which run down the left hand side as you face the front of Wychnor Hall. The lodges all have amazing country views from the bedroom window. There is also the recently renovated coach house which along with the rooms located in Wychnor Hall are the most spacious. There is also the smaller bungalow style rooms located behind the main hall, these probably would have been the servants quarters at some stage, although they look newer and may have been added as the site became a leisure venue to accomdate guests. I have stayed at all three and my preference would be the coach house followed by the hall. Don’t get me wrong the hall is stunning, but it is also where reception, the bar and on site restaurant are located. Sometimes it can get a little busy and if you have small children it can be noisy.
On Site Facilities
As with every Diamond Resorts property we have stayed at, there is a small onsite pool, small gym, tennis / basketball court and childrens outdoor play area. I am a keen runner and there is a stretch of about 1.5 miles from the main hall to the dual carriage way. This stretch is just pure countryside with the occasional house or farm located just to the side. Its brilliant to squeeze in a 3m/5km run first thing in a morning. The site also features a 9 hole golf course. Its not the most challenging course but there are literally dozens of golf courses all within a 45 minute drive, should you fancy something a little bit more challenging. The gardens are beautiful and it’s amazing to just go for a walk and imagine the history of the site.
