Kenmore Loch Tay. 1, 2 & 3 bed accommodation in a laid back Scottish village

The Kenmore Club is located on the banks of Loch Tay in Scotland. It is 50 miles from Perth and 80 miles from Edinburgh Airport. The best word I can use to describe the resort is quiet! The whole site has a laid back sleepy feel about it, as does the neighbouring village. You won’t find a 24-hour superstore or out of town shopping centre anywhere nearby.

It’s one of those places that you have to see it to believe it. I have included a video in this particular post which captures the beauty of the surroundings perfectly. You have a choice of 1,2 and 3 bedroom properties set in the gardens of the once magnificent Taymoth Castle. There is a leisure centre on site, a childrens play area and tennis courts. The resort is perfect for relaxing in its amazing surroundings. Wifi is available throughout the resort so you are not too far away from civilisation.

Offsite Activities

If you need to get away from the peace and quiet then there is a host of outdoor activities available. These including canoeing on the loch, fishing, mountain biking and walking. There is also an 18 hole golf course on the doorstep.

There is a selection of local restaurants in addition to the resort restaurant. The Grill Room Restaurant and Taymouth Marina Restaurant are particularly excellent.

There was also an excursion to The Malt Whisky Trail however as we were visiting with small children I am not sure if they are great whisky fans!

If you need a laid back, slow, sleepy environment, to get away from it all and recharge you batteries then Kenmore Loch Tay is the perfect environment. As we went with two small children I am not sure it is a great location for parents with small children. We where only there for a Monday – Thursday stay, so it was the perfect amount of time with two children under five. We broke the journey up with a couple of nights stay over in Glasgow on the way back which was a perfect end to the week.
