Sunterra
How many points do I really need to make Sunterra work for me?
Each person will have different needs but ultimately it comes down to what the cost of all holidays is about. The time of year you can travel - like all travel companies Sunterra charges a premium depending on the time of year. School holidays is usually the most expensive for a 1 week holiday you will need 7000 points minimum. If you want two weeks then you would need twice as many.
If you are not restricted to certain times of the year and the half points rule is available then you could get by with 4000 points. From conversations with members the general rule is you need to aim at getting 10000 points.
Is buying, selling and renting points allowed?
In short yes but there are guidelines. Firstly you can buy points from existing members, secondly you can only sell points to existing members and thirdly (you guessed it) you can only rent points from exisiting members.
The fees for transfering points between members are £299 plus for peace of mind we recommend that you make use of an escrow service. The fee for this is normally around £50.
